As part of my project to create an extended line for Zara, I wanted to carry out a styled photoshoot. The theme for my line is customisation, therefore I chose to my focus garments to be items that look like they could have been from my line. The theme was summer/festival.  This look was the first look, I was inspired by the yellow of our surroundings which tie in well with the reflective sunglasses and the colours of the tee. The ice lolly made a good prop, which helped to set the ‘summery’ scene and work well with the tee and the slogan.

Zara Brand Report

One of our current projects its to extend a chosen brand with a line that they don’t already have, with something that will work for the brand itself and also for their target audience.

As I have chosen Zara, for the first part of the module I did a lot of research into it as a company and displayed my research visually in an illustrated brand report.

We developed these brand reports on Adobe InDesign, which helped me with my InDesign skills massively and made me a lot more confident in using the programme in the future. We then also uploaded our documents to our university Issuu account, which definitely helps to bring the reports to life, allowing you to go through it like a magazine.

Marketing Mix Moodboards – Fendi

This was a piece of work that we got given to do based on a luxury fashion brand that we got to choose. I chose Fendi, as I didn’t already know a lot about it as it’s not one of the most popular ready-to-wear brands. We had to create mood boards based on the marketing mix of our chosen brand, using the ‘3 P’s’ to create three A3 printed mood boards.

These are the mood boards that I created for Fendi, I have used images to visualise my research and analysis of the brand. For example, what their stores look like, their advertisements and even bloggers and celebrities that wear their clothing. Through developing these mood boards, I did a lot of research into Fendi and learnt a lot about it as a brand that I didn’t already know, such as all of the information about what goes on behind a brand that you wouldn’t normally think of when you see a shop or website.

The process of creating these mood boards also helped me to learn and develop new skills of how to create a mood board on Adobe Illustrator, which is a programme I hadn’t previously used a lot before this year. I think by making my mood boards on Illustrator it makes my work look a lot more neat and put together.

Blog Branding

blog moodboard

As part of our course, we were given lessons in blogging and how to create a blog. To help us eventually achieve the blog we want, we were told to create moodboards with the different fonts, colour scheme, imagery and layout we want our blog to have.

For my blog, I wanted to keep the colour scheme quite simple with blacks, whites and also accents of dark dusty pink and purple. I also like the look of botanical accents, so eventually I want my blog design to include some floral pieces to it. In my layout I knew that I wanted to incorporate my social media in some way, including a live Instagram feed and buttons that link directly to my social media so that all of my platforms are linked together. I also want quite a simplistic, yet eye-catching layout and eventually want to add a moving section at the top of my blog with popular or most recent posts as I think this helps to make a website look a lot more professional.

For my logo, the font Gloss & Bloom really caught my eye. I love how it looks hand painted and I think it would help my logo look more personal and less formal. In my moodboard I have also featured a set of logo designs that I found on Pinterest. I think these are logos are all really simple yet still look classy and interesting and thats definitely something I strive for in my logo design.

blog logo

This is the first logo that I have came up with. Its extremely simple and features the font that I wanted to use from my moodboard. In the future, I definitely want to add more to my logo to make it more interesting, possibly some floral accents similar to these logo’s that I’ve found on Pinterest, as I absolutely love how they look and think they would work extremely well for what I want in my logo.
